Brass thrust washer is one part of thrust bearing. It is a kind of fastener made of brass, resembling a flat circular. Placed between bolts, screws and nuts to connect the supporting surface and between the surfaces of the part, having a larger contact surface area is connected parts. It can reduce the pressure per unit area and protect the connected components without damaged surface ; another elastic washer, also have the function of preventing the nut become looser and shockproof.

Brass thrust washer differs from standard washers or spacers because they must carry a bearing load and not wear out over time. To perform, thrust washers must be heat treated and then polished to achieve a hardness and surface finish that is equal to the bearing that is being supported.

And because brass thrust washer is made of brass which is a buttery yellow alloy of zinc and copper which has been manufactured for thousands of years in many parts of the world. Basic brass has approximately 67% copper and 33% zinc, making it stronger and more durable than copper, although not as strong as metals like steel. It is strong enough than normal washer.
