2. Abstract:

 The blade is made of carbon steel and coated with nickel-based material. The coating is resistant to corrosive inks and lacquers and protects the contact zone from oxidation. It’s the best choice for corrosive ink and lacquers printing. The coating at blade tip lengthen the life time of blade, decrease printing defects, provide clean doctoring, resist corrosion, greatly reduce drag-outs and significantly lowers waste levels. Less blade changes are needed resulting in reduced downtime and the need for re-chroming/re-engraving of cylinders is also decreased.

During operation, the coating flows into the contact zone and can cover small damages to the blade edge caused by contamination in the ink, therefore reducing toning and streaking.
