Double helical gear, also known as herringbone gear, is used to overcome the problem of axial thrust of 'single' helical gears. This is attained by the “V shape” two sections of teeth that operate simultaneously. Double helical gears, on the other hand, are also termed as the herringbone gears. Here, two gears of the same type are stacked together. Most double helical gears come in cylindrical form. It has two sections of teeth which are simply referred to as the left hand and the right hand. Plastic double helical gear is the double helical gear that is made of plastic. Plastic double helical gear has the characteristics that it has long life, chemicals and corrosion resistance, reduce noise and vibration, light weight, low cost, easily molded to various shapes, excellent lubricity, high load capacity. Plastic double helical gears are made of custom plastic materials to customer specifications can be promptly furnished. Nylon, POM, PA, PE and PP are available. It can be applied to chemical plants, paper mills, sugar mills, mining industry, automotive, instrumentation, textile industry, aerospace, medical devices.
