T port ball valve is a valve equipped with a spherical disc which is used to regulate the flow of the fluids. It is one sub-category of three-way ball valves. There is a T-shaped hole through the middle. When the port is in line with both ends of the valve, flow will occur. And when the valve is closed, the hole is perpendicular to the ends of the valve, and flow is blocked. The handle or lever will be in line with the port position letting you "see" the valve's position. A t port ball valve can connect any pair of ports, or all three together. The body of t port ball valve is usually made of metal (such as brass, steel), plastic(PVC) or metal with a ceramic center. The ball is often chrome plated to make it more durable. They are durable and usually work to achieve perfect shutoff even after years of disuse. They are therefore an excellent choice for shutoff applications (and are often preferred to globe valves and gate valves for this purpose). T port ball valves do not offer the fine control that may be necessary in throttling applications but are sometimes used for this purpose. T port ball valves are used extensively in industry because they are very versatile, supporting pressures up to 700 bars and temperatures up to 200°C. They are easy to repair and operate. T port ball valves are typically used as 3-way normally closed, 3-way normally open, pump unloading and many other applications.
